Initiated in the late 90s by HH Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, and Mr. Jacques Chirac, the President of the Republic of France, the Qatari French Business Club (QFBC) was initially dedicated to organizing businessmen delegations in both countries.

Qatari Chairman is Sheikh Nawaf bin Nasser Al Thani, President & CEO of NBK Group who replaced Mr. Ahmed Mannai in June 2003. French Honorary Chairman is Mr. Claude de Kemoularia, a former renowned and talented diplomat and businessman.

 

Our latest activities and events include:

February 2009:

Visit of a French delegation of businessmen led by Mr. Bertrand Delanoë, Mayor of Paris. A programme and a reception were jointly organized by QFBC and QCCI.

April 2009:

Visit of a delegation of French companies under the umbrella of the French Business Confederation “Medef International”, with a lunch hosted by QFBC and QBA.

May 2009:

Visit of the French Minister of Finance, Mrs. Christine Lagarde, with a lunch organized by Sheikh Nawaf Bin Nasser Bin Khaled Al Thani, Chairman of QFBC.

January 2010:

New Year’s cocktail offered by HE Mr. Gilles Bonnaud, the French Ambassador in Qatar, to the French-Qatari business community.

April 2010:

Visit of a delegation of French SMEs led by the Franco-Arab Chamber of Commerce. A gathering party was jointly organized, at the “Knowledge Enrichment Centre” on Doha’s Corniche, by QFBC and the French Trade Advisors in Qatar.

Today, the QFBC’s objective is to strengthen and expand its activities to become a fully-pledged business organization.
